the work of redefining identities through the instrument of art, the centrality of the person and his fragilities, are the principles at the basis of the pedagogy of scuola elementare del teatro, conservatorio popolare per le arti della scena/popular conservatory for the stage arts.

several times during these nine years the figure of the pinocchio puppet has inspired us. we have always turned to him as a symbolic brother of the kids with down syndrome or autism, or williams, or asperger who make up the structured working group .

pinocchio and the entire symbolic structure of the fable seem to embody all the characteristics of an incomprehensible, misunderstood adolescence, in whose torment, at times joyfully furious, at times gloomy and irredeemable, is reflected a society of caricatural or ruined adults: in forms more or less ambiguous, corruptors.

pinocchio is the different, he represents all the different people, with their anarchic and disruptive charge but he is also the 'raped' wood as bene said, by the perversion 'of the image and similarity' i add of a father, of an entire society normalizing for which the concept of person has rigid, conventional, bourgeois canons.
