Carlo Massari is a performer, choreographer, and transdisciplinary creator active in the contemporary Italian and international scene. His eclectic educational and professional path is characterized by experiences that alternate between prose and musical theater, eventually leading to dance and physical theater. Among his teachers are Malou Airaudo, Michela Lucenti, Sonia Schoonejans, Theatre de l’Ange Fou, ATER Balletto, Lucio Dalla, Csaba Antal, Walter Le Moli, Claudio Longhi, and Pietro Luigi Floridia.Over the years, he has collaborated as a performer with: Biennale di Venezia, Barbara Nativi, Marco Baliani, Teatro dell’Argine, TeatroDue, Cie.Balletto Civile, Cie.Abbondanza-Bertoni, Cie.della Rancia, and Cie.Petri Dish. In 2011, he co-founded C&C Company, a research and production company in the field of dance-theater (recognized by MIC), where he serves as Artistic Director and is responsible for its award-winning creations. In 2020, he received the CollaborActionXL recognition from the AnticorpiXL Network and became an Associate Artist of the Oriente Occidente Festival. He has worked as a director in the lyrical field for the Klaipeda State Music Theater and as a choreographer for the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Parma, and Landestheater Salzburg with directors Damiano Michieletto, Silvia Paoli, and Andrea Bernard.C&C COMPANYFounded in 2011, the company demonstrates a strong vocation for hybridization and transversality in the use of dance in relation to other contemporary performative codes.
